1 killed during gas station robbery in Henderson

HENDERSON, N.C. - A clerk at a BP gas station in Henderson was shot and killed Monday night during a robbery and two suspects are on the loose, authorities said.

The Henderson Police Department responded to the gas station located at 615 Raleigh Road just after 10:30 and upon arrival found Ahmed Shahit, 55, of Henderson, suffering from a gunshot wound. Shahit died on scene.

Police are looking for two suspects. The first suspect is approximately 5'8" tall and the second suspect is believed to be approximately 5'4" tall. And they are said to have left the scene on foot.

 The Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 252-438-4141 or Henderson Vance Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925.
