MORRISVILLE, N.C. -- A JetBlue airplane bound for Fort Lauderdale made an unscheduled stop at Raleigh Durham International Airport early Saturday evening due to a request for assistance from EMS and law enforcement.

JetBlue Flight 455 departing Boston en route to Ft. Lauderdale was diverted to RDU after airline officials aboard the plane called RDU and asked for assistance.

Flight 455 requested that EMS and law enforcement be there upon arrival. The flight landed at 5:40pm. Upon arrival a man was subdued by local law enforcement until the FBI arrived. The FBI has taken over the case. There is no word on what type of altercation occurred or the man's identity.

The flight is now en route to Fort Lauderdale.
