A Johnston County teacher and coach charged with taking indecent liberties with a student appeared in court in Thursday morning, but his case was continued until May 3.
The prosecution asked for the continuance in James McNamara's case. That decision frustrated his mother, Diane McNamara, and supporters, who say the prosecution has no evidence.
McNamara, a teacher and wrestling coach at Corinth Holders High School, has insisted he is innocent of doing anything inappropriate with a 16-year-old girl.
He is suspended with pay from the Johnston County schools.
