2 teens detained in Raleigh teen's shooting death

Raleigh Police have detained two teens in connection with the murder of Fernando Garibay-Benitez.

Police responded to a shooting at 3801 Rolling Green Court around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found the body of 16-year-old Garibay-Benitez.

Police believe a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy are the main suspects in the case however a follow-up investigation is ongoing.

Garibay-Benitez’s cousin said the victim lived a couple of blocks away from the apartment complex where he was shot. His cousin, Chris Benitez, also said Fernando was supposed to be going to the store and didn’t know why he was there.

Police say the minivan that is believed to have been involved in the incident as been located. An esact location on where the van was found has not been released.
