A music video honors Faith Hedgepeth

WARRENTON, NC -

The memory of a murdered UNC Chapel Hill student lives on through music. Faith Hedgepeth was found dead inside her Chapel Hill apartment back in September and the search for her killer continues.

Family and friends are seeking justice and joined together to create a music video in her honor.

"It was beautiful to see everyone come out and support Faith and the calls to raise awareness to her case," said Charly Lowry, lead singer of Dark Water Rising.

Lowry is the voice behind a music video dedicated to honor Faith Hedgepeth. "Some of the lyrics say ‘I didn't have a chance to say goodbye, but I'll say hello in the afterlife,'" said Lowry. "You could just look on everyone's faces and tell they wanted to be a part of it."

A glimpse of the video shoot after the day-long filming wrapped up showed that it was a full-scale production produced entirely by professionals donating their time and resources.

"She was my baby sister. It was truly overwhelming to continue to see all the support and the care of the community and friends and family," said Chadwick Hedgepeth, Faith's older brother.

He has a message for the suspect at large: "Please turn yourself in. Get that burden off of you and off of all of us," he said.

Looking ahead, Faith's family hopes to expand a scholarship under her name. As for the investigation, last month, police discovered DNA evidence that belongs to a male, in Hedgepeth's apartment.

Investigators believe the suspect was familiar with Hedgepeth and may have lived near her in the past.

If you have any information you are asked to call police.
