Posted: Updated:
DURHAM, N.C. -

A Durham County Sheriff's deputy was uninjured in an accident at the intersection of Page Road and T.W. Alexander Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 1 p.m., the deputy was traveling north on Page Road in response to the pursuit-related crash on I-85. With lights and siren on, the deputy stopped and cleared the intersection at T.W. Alexander Drive.

As the deputy proceeded through the intersection, he was hit on the drivers side by a woman driving a Honda sedan.

The woman had a green light but did not see the deputy in time to stop. She was transported to the hospital due to an ankle injury.

Both cars were towed from the scene.
