Two officials monitoring the Syrian border say U.N. peacekeepers held by Syrian rebels for four days have begun crossing into Jordan.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief reporters on the developments concerning the peacekeepers.
In all, 21 U.N. peacekeepers were seized on Wednesday by Syrian rebels. The peacekeepers are from the Philippines.
The two officials say the released peacekeepers began crossing into Jordan on Saturday afternoon.
