Pedestrian hit and killed in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police are currently investigating an accident on University Drive that killed a pedestrian Sunday night.

The accident occurred Sunday night on University Drive near Forest Hills Boulevard. According to police, the victim was walking in the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Peter Segal.

Authorities have identified the victim as Daniel Lauray, Jr., 59, of Durham. Police said Lauray sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

University Drive from Forest Hills Boulevard to Vickers Avenue was closed to traffic, but is now back open.

There is no additional information available at this time regarding charges.
