Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

The search continued Tuesday for two men wanted in a violent armed robbery and carjacking at Raleigh's popular Pullen Park.

Police say two men were attacked near the tennis courts around 10 p.m. Monday. They were beaten according to witnesses and one of the men's car was stolen. It has since been found.

The men ran to a nearby gas station and the worker on duty called 911.

The crime happened just across the street from the busy N.C. State campus. Students got an e-mail alert warning them of the crime.

The victims have since been released from the hospital. They were not home for comment when WNCN visited their addresses.

Limited information about the suspects is known, however both were described as black males each standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds. They were wearing black hoodies and black jeans.

Anyone who has information about the crime is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department at 919-829-1911.
