CARY, N.C. -
The initial meeting of the Wake County schools safety task force met Thursday in Cary.
Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison and retired Raleigh Police Capt. Al White chair the group, that was created in February, that met to review Wake school safety policies and come up with changes.
The group has 90 days to improve on the current plan and present improvements to the school board.
A bond referendum will generate money needed to fund changes in security.
17 board members were in attendance including John Tedesco and Keith Sutton.
