FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A registered sex offender is back in jail after he allegedly tried to abduct an 11-year-old boy in a public building in Fayetteville back in February.

Patrick Maurice Woodruff, 43, of Fayetteville, is being held on a $70,000 bond in the Cumberland County Detention Center, on charges of attempted child abduction.

The victim told police that on Feb. 18, Woodruff tried to lure him away from his father while they were inside the county's Department of Social Services.

Woodruff was captured on video talking to the child and attempting to lure him away from his father.  The child ran to his father to report what had occurred.

The child was unharmed and a search for Woodruff began immediately.

Woodruff remains in the Cumberland County Detention Center.
