Delta Rae, Chatham Co. Line join Band Together concert

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

Two popular local acts, Delta Rae and Chatham County Line, will join headliner Lyle Lovett for the May 4 Band Together concert at Koka Booth Ampitheatre in Cary.

The Mac and Juice Quartet, which won the Last Band Standing contest, will open the event.

Band Together, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has filled the bill for their Spring concert with local bands that have gained popularity and following well beyond the Triangle and North Carolina.

Band Together raised more than $550,000 last year for Urban Ministries of Wake County's Open Door Clinic.

This year, Band Together hopes to raise $850,000 for Raleigh's Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities this year.

Durham-based Delta Rae fuses inspired, four-part harmonies with a rich Carolina soul. Dubbed as "Mumford & Sons meets Fleetwood Mac," the pop band has four lead singers whose music incorporates all aspects of Americana -- including Gospel, Country, Blue Grass and Blues. They've appeared on VH-1, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and recently at South by Southwest, and have headlined shows to sold-out crowds on both coasts, including the Carolina Theatre in Durham.

Chatham County Line combines a rock 'n' roll sensibility with traditional bluegrass, folk and country, and after six albums in the U.S., continue to amaze and gain fans far beyond North Carolina's borders. Favorites at festivals such as Merlefest, Grey Fox, Rockygrass, Shakori Hills and Pickin' in the Pines, Chatham County Line brings another diverse blend of music to a rich lineup at the May 4 event.

Band Together has raised more than $2.1 million for local nonprofits since its inception in 2001.

Tickets for the event range from $34.50 (in advance) for general seating to premium reserve seating for $69.50. VIP tickets are $150 and include exclusive access to catered food and beverage, premier viewing of the main stage, and a silent auction. Tickets for the event are on sale now through etix.com.
