WNCN's Sanders to emcee Pancreatic Cancer event

RALEIGH, N.C. -

WNCN is proud to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's "PurpleStride Raleigh-Durham 2013." 

Anchor Melanie Sanders will emcee the event on Saturday, April 20, beginning at 8 a.m. at N.C. State University's Centennial Campus.  The event will offer a variety of entertaining and educational activities designed to help raise awareness and funds in the fight against pancreatic cancer. 

There will be a competitive 5K timed run, as well as a family fun run/walk.  The opening ceremonies are at 9:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 10 a.m.

The goal this year is to raise $100,000.
