McCrory press office aide Diaz moves to HHS

RALEIGH, N.C. -

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory's press secretary during his 2012 campaign is leaving the governor's press office to lead media relations in 1 of the administration's largest agencies.

The Department of Health and Human Services announced Monday that Ricky Diaz will become its communications director. He's spent the first months of the McCrory administration as the governor's deputy communications director.

Diaz arrives at the department as it seeks to undertake a massive privatization effort within the state Medicaid program and works to bring online a new Medicaid billing system in July.

Department Secretary Dr. Aldona Wos (vahsh) also said that longtime agency leader Sherry Bradsher is the new deputy secretary of human services.
