More than 14K drivers cited during 'No Need 2 Speed' campaign

RALEIGH, N.C. -

More than 14,000 drivers were cited during the state's "No Need 2 Speed" campaign that ran March 25 through March 31. 

A total of 30,764 traffic and criminal citations were issued statewide during the campaign.

"Law enforcement's presence on our roads is imperative to reminding motorists to obey speed limits, and we greatly appreciate their dedication to keeping our roads safe," said Becky Wallace, director of GHSP, in a written statement.

More than 3,000 seat belt violation citations were issued as well as 587 child passenger safety violations.
