A woman turned herself in to police in connection with a hit-and-run on the Durham Freeway Friday morning.
Aurelia Rochelle Mangum, 31, of Durham, was charged with felony hit-and-run, careless and reckless driving and failure to move over for emergency equipment, said Durham police.
Police have identified the victim as Zaida Juarez, 26, of Durham. Juarez was a passenger in a two-vehicle accident that happened around 7 a.m. Friday.
The two vehicles, as well as a Durham police car, were pulled over on the shoulder. Juarez was standing on the shoulder when a white Toyota swerved onto the shoulder and hit her around 7:30 a.m.
Juarez was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Microsoft store at The Streets at Southpoint opened its doors Thursday.
