FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

The body of a woman was found behind the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club Saturday morning, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Debbie Tanna, a spokesperson for sheriff's office, said that a woman's body was found behind the Boys and Girls Club on Cumberland Road at 9 a.m.

At this time, authorities are not calling the death investigation suspicious but have not determined the cause of death.

Neighbors of the Boys and Girls club said they had been smelling a strong odor they thought was the trash for about a week.

The body will be sent to the N.C. Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill on Monday to be identified.

Loved ones of a missing Cumberland County woman showed up where the body was found. Michelle Lynne Powell has been missing since March 8.
