A former Wayne County Schools Assistant Superintendent pleaded guilty Tuesday to accepting gift and/or favors from contractors.

Donald Sprunt Hill was accused of unlawfully accepting gifts and/or favors from a contractor or suppliers during his time as an administrator.

Wayne County deputies arrested 61-yr.-old Hill in April following a joint investigation by the sheriff's office and the FBI.

Deputies said the charges stem from July 2007 and June 2009.

The Goldsboro News-Argus reported that Hill received a 45-day suspended sentence and was fined $5,000.
