RALEIGH, N.C. -

Family and friends gathered in Raleigh Friday to remember a woman who died after being stabbed in her North Raleigh home Monday.

Jamie Hahn, 29, and her husband Nation Hahn, 27, were brutally attacked Monday evening in their home. Both were taken to WakeMed for their injuries. Nation was treated and released but Jamie died Wednesday morning from her injuries.

A visitation was held for Jamie from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at the church Saturday at 11 a.m.

Raleigh police say Jonathan Broyhill, a friend of Jamie and her husband stabbed the couple in their North Raleigh home Monday. Broyhill was also taken to WakeMed for self-inflicted injuries.

The Hahns were considered up and comers in the political world and were closely connected to the Democratic Party. Jamie's firm, Blue Sky Strategies, helped Congressman Brad Miller and his campaign.

"She was making her way in politics -- she was an up and rising star -- she was on top of the world," said Hahn's step-father.

"It's an unbelievable tragedy," U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) said. "The fact that we have lost someone like Jamie with an incredible amount of intellect, talent, energy; I think it is a sad, sad day for our community."

Jamie Hahn founded Blue Sky Strategies, a fundraising firm that focuses on politics and nonprofits. She also worked on campaigns for several politicians, including Edwards, former U.S. Rep. Brad Miller and former U.S. Senate candidate Ken Lewis. Broyhill was identified as a strategist for Jamie Hahn's firm.

On Wednesday, Rep. Miller said that Jamie Hahn planned to look into how Broyhill handled funds from his recent political campaign.

A source close to Jamie Hahn's family told WNCN that Jonathan Broyhill claimed he had pancreatic cancer, when in fact he did not.

The Hahns had planned to take Broyhill to see a doctor about the condition. Broyhill remained at WakeMed in good condition Thursday afternoon.
