Rocky Mount hosts 2013 Down East Senior Games

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -

Rocky Mount is hosting the 2013 Down East Senior Games, a competition in various activities for people ages 55 and older.
    
The event is expected to draw 300 to 350 participants. It begins Monday and ends Friday.
    
The games are a partnership among five counties: Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Northampton and Wilson. Events include track and field, tennis, pool and bowling, along with arts and crafts.
    
Winners will advance to the North Carolina Senior Games, scheduled later this year in the Raleigh, Durham and Cary areas.
