A hole near intersection blocked traffic in north Tampa

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Authorities blocked traffic in the area of Arbor Hills Road and Turner Road in north Tampa Monday morning. It looked like a sinkhole opened up near the intersection. Hillsborough County public utilities staffers assured a water main break had caused the hole to appear.

Hillsborough County deputies told us they blocked the north and east bound lanes at the intersection.

The hole seemed to be about 8 by 8 feet, according to the HCSO report, it opened near a fire hydrant.

Deputies notified the county maintenance crews about the hole. According to the HCSO report, no structures were in danger. Authorities advise drivers to avoid the intersection in the meantime. The county workers will repair the water main break.

Stay with wfla.com, we will let you know when the intersection opens.

Personal wipes, baby wipes, face wipes, flushable wipes. They are all designed to help us deal with delicate issues. But the wipes themselves are actually pretty sturdy and increasingly local water systems are finding they are creating costly problems.
