FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are asking for help to find a missing teenager.

16-year-old Reuben Veirs has not been seen since he left home Monday night. His home is on Lakeridge Drive off Bingham Drive in western Fayetteville.

Police don't believe he was kidnapped, but a Silver Alert has been issued for the boy because he does not have his prescription medicine. His father Jason Veirs said Friday that his son's health could be in danger with the medication.

"We're concerned because he hasn't made any contact to home, as far as I know of to any of his friends, and he takes medication. He hasn't been taking the medication that he needs," Veirs said.

He also said he had monitored his son's phone online, and there has not been any activity. He said the phone has been dead or turned off since Wednesday.

"We've spoken with a few friends and not much information there," Veirs said. "I'm not sure if maybe he knows somebody that I don't know and might be with them. That's what concerns me."

Veirs said there is also a chance his son is on the way to see friends in Virginia, but he said that is really just a guess. He really has no idea where his son could be he said.

"We're hoping one of his friends will come and say they've spoke with him," Veirs said. "At least that way we know he's alright. We put up flyers... Kind of hit a brick wall right now."

Anyone who can help locate Reuben Veirs is asked to call Fayetteville Police at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
