Fayetteville police looking for 2 suspects in shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting that occurred just after 9 p.m. Thursday night on the 900 block of 71st School Road.

Officers were called to the area in response to a report of shots fired. When they arrived on scene they found a male subject had been shot near a residence on 71st School Road. The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspects. Police believe the suspects are two males that were seen driving a dark 4-door sedan at the time of the shooting.

The name of the victim is being withheld at this time. 

Anyone with information concerning the shooting or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Fayetteville Police Department through 911 communications or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
