Greenville Police say an ECU student was killed in an accident Monday afternoon.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Arlington Blvd.
Police say a truck hydroplaned across the middle lane, crashing into an oncoming car driven by 20-year-old Elizabeth Griffiths.
Rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to get Griffiths out of her car. They rushed her to Vidant Medical Center but she did not survive.
The driver of the truck, 17-year-old Mitchell Wilkerson, was taken to Vidant with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say rain and speed were factors in the accident.

A woman is dead after a crash on East Arlington Blvd.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Police said a Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling westbound when it hydroplaned and crossed into the oncoming lane, where it hit a Honda Accord almost head-on. The truck came to rest near a tree on the south side of the road. The Accord came to rest in the right travel lane. Debris was spread across all five lanes of the road.
The driver of the Honda was removed from her car, taken to Vidant Medical Center, and later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Vidant with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Names of the drivers are being withheld pending family notifications.
Crash is still under investigation. Rain and speed appear to be factors in the cause of the crash.
Arlington Blvd was blocked for about an hour and forty minutes.
