Triangle one of the best places for working women

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh are some of the best cities for working women in the United States, according to a new survey by Nerd Wallet.

Durham and Chapel Hill was rated the best medium-sized city for the female workforce. They are home to both Duke University and the University of North Carolina. Nerd Wallet also said both cities are rich in research opportunities and university-related jobs. According to Nerd Wallet, women in the Durham-Chapel Hill metro area earn 93.5 percent of what men earn.

As far as best big cities, the Raleigh-Cary area was rated eighth. Working women in Raleigh and Cary earn an average salary of $41,285 and earn 77.10 percent of what men earn.
