CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Chapel Hill Police are investigating an armed robbery in broad daylight Sunday in Meadowmont Village.

Police say two males robbed a Meadowmont resident at gun point Sunday around 2 p.m.

Investigators believe the suspects may have been riding around with another person looking for opportunities such as open garages or doors and came upon the victim.

Authorities say the suspects robbed the victim as they were walking back from a nearby shopping center.

No one was injured in the robbery but residents of the affluent neighborhood are shocked. "It makes me very nervous," said Meadowmont resident Karen Lewis. "We're going to be extra careful."

Police believe this was a one-time crime but are urging resident to be alert to their surroundings.
