Beaufort man in custody after double stabbing

Posted: Updated:

A man is behind bars after a double stabbing in Beaufort.

It happened Sunday at a residence on Turner Street.

That's where police said they found 21-year-old Aaron Smith standing on the front porch wearing a blood soaked t-shirt. He was taken into custody after telling the officers, "It's their blood, I f***ed up".

They found two stabbing victims inside the home. Beaufort EMS took both victims to Carteret General Hospital for treatment. They're identified as Erika Isaacs of Beaufort and Pamela Reyes of Hillsborough. There's no word on their conditions.

Officers said there were 4 children, ages 4 to 11, inside the home at the time of the stabbing. They were taken to the home of relatives.

Smith was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. He's being held without bond.
