2 stabbed outside Fayetteville club

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are investigating an early morning incident at a nightclub that left two victims in the hospital with stab wounds.

Police responded to a call regarding a large disturbance at Club Xscape at 1940 Skibo Road just after 2 a.m. Thursday. Officers arrived on scene to find multiple people in the parking lot and were alerted to two stab victims. Additional units were called in to get the crowd under control. 

The two victims were identified as Kevin Bruton, 28, of Fayetteville, and Vernon Lawrence, 23, of Fayetteville, were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. They are listed in fair condition.

Authorities detained multiple people in connection, but authorities said those detained were determined to not be involved in the stabbings.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying persons in connection with the aggravated assault.
