A man has died after being shot during a double-shooting on June 22 in Durham.
Durham police said officers were dispatched to a shooting call just before 5 p.m. on the 300 block of Gray Avenue. Arriving officers found a 47-year-old man suffering from a gun shot wound.
Witnesses told officers shots were exchanged between people in a car and others on the street, police said.
Shortly after, officers were sent to a business near the intersection of Cheek Road and Midland Terrace where they found Ronald Anthony Leathers, 32, of Durham, shot inside a vehicle, authorities said. Durham police said Leathers died from his injuries Thursday.
The 47-year-old victim was treated for his injuries at the hospital and has been released. Durham police said it is believed he was an innocent bystander.
No arrests have been made in the case and investigators are trying to determine the motive.
