Chapel Hill PD warn of FEMA imposters after floods

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Chapel Hill police say they have received reports of people posing as FEMA representatives in Chapel Hill and Carrboro.

Orange County officials confirmed through FEMA that the individuals are not affiliated with their organization. Police are urging residents to call 911 to report the imposters.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill officials are still evaluating areas throughout the town that were affect by the recent floods.

The American Red Cross has established a 24-hour help line for residents in need of immediate assistance or in need of more general flood relief information and services. Flood relief victims are urged to call 919-489-6541 ext. 4141.
