GREENVILLE, N.C. - The Medical Examiner has released its findings in the autopsy of a Pitt County teen that drowned in a pool last summer.

Deputies were called to a community off Holland Road in Greenville around 3 p.m. July 7. That's where they found 19 year old Leah Droske in her family's swimming pool.

Droske's stepfather said they had just returned home from the beach when they found the 19-year-old. She had just moved to Greenville from Pennsylvania three weeks earlier and was planning to attend Pitt Community College in the fall, then transfer to ECU.

A family friend told 9 On Your Side at the time that Droske had epilepsy. They believed she may have had a seizure in the pool.

The autopsy report listed Droske's cause of death as the following:

"Given the investigative, autopsy and toxicological findings, it is my opinion that Ms. Leah Droske's cause of death is due asphyxia due to drowning. Other significant conditions included seizure disorder and subtherapeutic anti-seizure medication (levetiracetam) blood level."
