Arrest made in Greenville carjacking

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

Greenville Police have arrested a suspect in the armed carjacking at the Nathaniel Village apartment complex on Fifth Street. 

Police arrested 40-year-old David Battiste early Tuesday morning. Police say two males were sitting in their truck in the parking lot. That's when two males walked up to the car and tried to rob them. Police say one of the suspects shot into the passenger side window of the truck, shattering the glass. 

Police say the suspects then took off in the victims white Ford F-150, no one was injured and the incident is under investigation. 

Battiste is at the Pitt County Detention Center under a one million dollar bond. He is charged with two counts of robbery with dangerous weapon, possession of firearm by felon, and disarming a weapon into an occupied dwelling or vehicle.
