Dave Matthews hitches a ride with fans to his own concert

Posted: Updated:

"You've got a friend in Pennsylvania." It's a state motto musician Dave Matthews can agree with.

A fan on her way to a Dave Matthews concert at Hershey Park found herself helping Dave make it to his own show on time.

"So we saw him on the other side of the road and we pulled my car in here and he picks up his bike and throws it up here," said Emily Kraus.

Dave Matthews needed help.  He didn't have a cell phone and his bicycle had a flat tire.  So Emily Kraus and her boyfriend loaded up the bike, the superstar hopped in their car, and they made it to the concert on time.

Dave Matthews was so grateful he invited the two to dinner, gave them back stage passes and front row seats.

"I woke up this morning, and I rolled over and I said, okay yeah that really happened yesterday," Emily said while laughing.  "It was surreal.  We couldn't believe it."

And of course Dave Matthews signed their tickets saying, "Thanks for the ride".
