2 injured in drive-by shooting in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are investigating an early morning shooting in the 5700 block of Aftonshire Drive after receiving a call just after midnight Wednesday in reference to a drive-by shooting.

Authorities say two people were standing in the front yard of a residence when a vehicle driving along Aftonshire Drive began shooting at the subjects.

Both of the subjects were injured in the shooting and immediately transferred to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Both victims have been released from the hospital.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white minivan with tinted windows.

Detectives are actively investigating the shooting.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to call detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
