Free dental clinic in Wake Forest helps less fortunate

Posted: Updated:
WAKE FOREST, N.C. -

A church is Wake Forest is offering free dental care this weekend from local dentists.

Richland Creek Community Church paid to bring in a dental truck from the North Carolina Baptist Men.

People who have problems paying for dental insurance or dental care have the chance to get cleanings, extractions, among other procedures.

"It helps me out great and I see a lot of the same people from the area I'm from with the same situations, and you know, they just have to wait for the clinics to be able to come around to be able to do what they need to have done. Like so much other of us, don't have the money to pay for it," said Chad Lewis. He had a tooth extracted at the clinic.

Dr. Edmond Suh, who opened Supremia Dentistry nearby, is added chairs to his practice to accommodate more patients.

The clinic continues Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Richland Creek Community Church at 3229 Burlington Mills road in Wake Forest.

Other services offered include cardiology and chiropractic screenings.

A similar event is scheduled for Aug. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gorman Baptist Church in Durham.
