Raises for state agency workers

During Gov. Pat McCrory's term, critics have questioned him about pay raises for former staff members.

Two former members are now working for the Department of Health and Human Services and received big pay raises for their positions that were never publicly advertised.

A non-profit group called Progress NC Action looked into salary raises for state agencies under Gov. McCrory's term. They cite a directive from the Governor on March 8th that should have frozen salaries but was never followed. McCrory wanted the agencies to freeze the salaries and cut expenses to save money because Medicaid shortfalls.
