Suspect arrested in connection with Fayetteville kidnapping, murder

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

A man wanted in connection with a kidnapping and murder in Fayetteville has been arrested and charged in the case.

The U.S. Marshal's Task Force located and arrested Anthony Solomon Porter in the 6000 block of Gavins Street in Fayetteville Friday.

Porter has been taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a felonious assault and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities were looking for Porter for his suspected involvement with the Sept. 1 murder of 27-year-old Errol Williams.

A second suspect has already been arrested in the case. Eric Lamont Phillips, 31, was arrested at his home Sept. 3 on charges of drug possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.

A third suspect is being sought in the case. Kourtney Terrell Reed, 20, is charged with two counts of first degree kidnapping, and one count each of first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Police are still looking for a fourth suspect, 31-year-old Kelly Eugene Elliot. Elliot is believed to be the triggerman in the crime. He's charged with first degree murder, two counts of first degree kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He's also believed to be the man seen in surveillance video at the crime scene.

Police would also like to speak with a person of interest in the case, Joseph Haskins.
