SWANSBORO, N.C. -

Attention outdoors-lovers: This weekend is the first Crystal Coast Paddle Festival.

The event kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday at the Hammocks Beach state park in Swansboro.

It's meant to celebrate outdoor sports and state parks here in Eastern North Carolina. Visitors can browse tents for kayak and paddleboard vendors, take tours on the water, and even see a dragon boat race.

The race kicks off at noon Sunday and will be the first of its kind in Onslow County.
