New suspect named in Fayetteville kidnapping, murder

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -
Fayetteville police said detectives identified another suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Errol Williams on Sept. 1.
Joseph DeShawn Haskins, 21, is wanted for first-degree murder, two counts first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery, police said. Haskins' last known address of 926 Spellman Drive in Fayetteville.
Fayetteville police warned Haskins should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police said Williams was kidnapped from the parking lot of a convenience store at Bragg Boulevard and Shaw Road around 4:45 a.m. on Sept. 1.
Police say the suspects forced Williams to drive about a mile away where they shot and killed him.
Police are still seeking 31-year-old Kelly Eugene Elliott, who is believed to be the triggerman in the crime. He is charged with first degree murder, two counts of first degree kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is also believed to be the man seen in surveillance video at the crime scene.
