Hope Mills teen arrested in connection with shooting

HOPE MILLS, N.C. -
Cumberland County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Hope Mills teen wanted in connection with a shooting Sunday night in the Gallberry Farms community.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Alex Brandon Fernandez Tuesday. He faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury and first-degree burglary.
The sheriff's office said Fernandez and another teen tried to break into a home on Gallberry Farm Road and shot the homeowner.
The second suspect, 19-year-old James Todd Fisher, was captured by authorities early Tuesday morning. Fisher is charged with first-degree burglary and felony conspiracy. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $65,000 secured bond.
Fernandez is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center. Authorities did not release any bond information concerning Fernandez.
