PORTLAND, OR (WFLA) - A kitten with a disfigured jaw and missing an eye becomes Internet celebrity after his foster mom put up a Facebook page for him and the animal shelter in Oregon that took care of him, KGW reported.

Sir Stuffington had a bunch of other diseases, fleas and was really filthy when he and his two siblings were brought to the the Multmonah County Animal Shelter about 10 days ago. The kittens were 6 weeks old, according to KGW.

Blazer Schaffer who fostered him, put up a Facebook page with information on his progress, how to adopt him and how to help the shelter. The page got over 30,000 'likes' by Monday, KGW reported, the the pirate-looking kitty became Internet celebrity.

"People like to see that story of fight and survival," Schaffer told KGW.

The story got picked up by major media outlets online.

Melanie and Jeffrey Cornwell should have been getting a tax break for years on part of the homestead property in Dunedin they call their "little piece of Heaven." But due to a mistake at the Pinellas Property Appraiser's Office, they won't see any rebates for previous taxes, just a break on future tax bills.
