Kansas woman fired for Facebook post

Posted: Updated:
MANHATTAN, KS (WFLA) - A woman in Kansas got fired from her job after putting a post criticizing military on her personal Facebook page, KSNT reported.

Meagan May said in her post in September that she didn't think a war was heroic and criticized military personnel for expecting discounts at local businesses.

The post got thousands of negative comments, according to the KSNT story. The next day May's boss at Carmike Cinemas called her in. She told KSNT he fired her over the post.

The company posted on their Facebook page that they fully support and honor military personnel and that May's comments didn't reflect the attitude of the company, KSNT reported.

May is not backing down. She thinks she should be able to post anything on her personal page, she told KSNT.
