FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police are searching for two suspects they said are connected to the robbery of a Marathon convenience store on Sept. 27.

Police said officers responded to a reported robbery at the Marathon convenience store located at 5000 Ramsey Street around 10:20 p.m.

A police investigation revealed two unknown black males entered the store and acted as customers. When the clerk opened the register, the suspects leapt over the counter in an attempt to steal money from the register, police said.

Police said the suspects were unable to obtain property from the business and fled on foot towards Ramsey Street.

Anyone with information concerning the robbery or the identity of the suspects, is asked to contact Detective J. Pacurari with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 916-7491 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).  Crimestoppers information can also be submitted by visiting Crimestoppers on the web and completing the anonymous online tip sheet.
