Deputies: Four men steal metal and sell it

Posted: Updated:

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office is investigating several incidents of stolen metal.

Deputies say four men Jason Brewer, Nicholas Gallinoto, Ryan Westbrook, and Jason Coburn stole metal from four different locations. Two incidents occurred off of West Star Street. East Carolina Police and Greenville Police also took reports of stolen Bobcat Forks.

Deputies say following incidents, the suspects sold the scraps from the metal taken to a metal recycling company.

Deputies say all four incidents happened from July to September.

Deputies say the first two thefts happened on West Star Street in Greenville. Marketing consultant, Keith Corder, works just around the corner at Delcor.

"We have a building right here in the industrial park. Delcor has been doing heating, plumbing, and air conditioning for the last four years. So, it really is kind of a concern, when you think about someone coming into the business and taking what's ours, said Corder.

Two of the suspects, Jason Brewer and Ryan Westbrook were charged and bonded out of the Pitt County Detention Center. The third suspect, Jason Coburn was arrested on Friday and is in the Pitt County Detention Center.

Deputies have a warrant out for the fourth suspect, Gallinoto. If you have information about their whereabouts contact the Pitt County Sheriff's Office

Lieutenant Chad Suggs, says these latest incidents are part of growing problem.

"It's an extreme problem. It's not just a problem for people who have metal. It's a problem for businesses and for phone companies and for power companies; because, people will go in they will cut the metals off light poles, phones lines," said Suggs.
