Posted: Updated:
PLANT CITY, FL (WFLA) -

Hillsborough County deputies are investigating a double shooting in the Plant City area that happened on Friday morning.

At about 3:30 a.m. HCSO received a call about shots fired at 2709 Chorba Drive in Plant City. Deputies discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Deputies have determined that three men had been out drinking and partying at a club and sometime after they returned to the trailer on Chorba Drive shots. Authorities say the men thought they heard noises outside the trailer. One of the men went outside and fired shots in the ground to scare anyone away. The gun reportedly jammed and the man went inside where one of the other men unjammed the gun.

Detectives say the landlord then approached the trailer and someone shoots through the trailer at the landlord. Deputies say the landlord returns fire and shoots one of the men in the head. The landlord was shot in the leg.

Officials say the man in the trailer was flown to Tampa General Hospital and the landlord was taken to South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City. Officials have not released the names of the men involved or their conditions.
