'Healthier Durham' challenge kicks off in the Bull City

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham launched a new initiative Monday morning, challenging the city of Durham to get healthier.

The City of Durham and Durham County have partnered to become the first government entity in North Carolina to join "A Healthier NC" campaign, which launched in April of this year.

The challenge seeks 28,000 residents to complete 420,000 hours of activity to lose 280,000 pounds.

"A Healthier Durham" is proving free health journal tools on its website.
