Wakefield High among national leaders on safe driving push

Wakefield High School is sixth nationally among larger schools in a push to promote safe driving by tends promoted by State Farm Insurance.

A State Farm spokeswoman said more than 3,000 schools are participating. The top 100 schools will win a grant, ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.

The top large school – more than 750 students – and the top small school will get a concert from Kelly Clarkson.

Wakefield is sixth in the large school category, with Danbury, Conn., High leading the way.

Anyone over the age of 14 can visit the site once a day to make a safe driving commitment for their school.
