RALEIGH, N.C. -

Walter Kevin Johnson told police, "You guys got me," after he was detained, according to warrants for his arrest.

Johnson, 28, was arrested Friday in connection with eight crimes that occurred between Sept. 22 and Oct. 8. Among a number of other charges, he faces nine counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, three counts of first-degree kidnapping and three counts of second-degree kidnapping.

Johnson was stopped by Raleigh police on Glenwood Avenue near Pleasant Valley Road around 1:15 p.m. Friday, police said.

Johnson's arrest came after an unidentified woman who lives with him called 911 when she noticed "evidence all over the house" that he may possibly be the suspect.

In a 911 call released last week, the unidentified woman said Johnson had "lately been acting really weird," adding that she wasn't sure if he was even employed anymore.

When asked by the dispatcher why she suspected the man to be the robbery suspect, the caller, who said she had a newborn in the home, said, "I suspect it because there is evidence all over the house."

She said that he'd been returning home at 2 a.m., claiming to have been at work.

According to the warrants, items seized at the house included multiple laptops, items of jewelry and watches, coins, watches and multiple items of clothing.

Johnson, who is married with kids, was reportedly experiencing financial problems, which investigators are looking at as a possible motive for the robberies.

Recently, he owned an Internet marketing company called 1855 Media, which was headquartered in the Captrust tower in North Hills.

Johnson lives a couple blocks from Pleasant Valley Road, where many of the robberies happened.

In total, Johnson faces 27 charges.
