Drugs seized from Raleigh home

Raleigh police seized drugs, drug paraphernalia and money from the residence a man suspected of selling marijuana and ecstasy at local clubs, according to a search warrant made available Tuesday.

Raleigh police received a tip related to an individual selling drugs at clubs in the area. The suspect, Ross Montafia, was found to live in the 6300 block of Grove Estates Terrace in Raleigh. Police were able to obtain and execute a search warrant on the residence on Sept. 20, 2011, authorities said. 

Officers seized marijuana, ecstasy, drug paraphernalia, two shotguns, two rifles and ammunition  from the residence from the search warrant executed in 2011, Raleigh police said. 

On Aug. 15, Raleigh police officers searched the garbage of the same residence searched in 2011. Police obtained mail addressed to Montafia and Alexander Borneman, the search warrant states. The police also found evidence of marijuana and cocaine in the garbage. 

Using the evidence found in the garbage, Raleigh police were able to obtain another search warrant for the residence in the 6300 block of Grove Estates Terrace.

On Aug. 17, Raleigh police executed the search warrant obtaining U.S. currency, marijuana from Borneman's bedroom, digital scales, xanax, meth, and drug paraphernalia from the house.

Montafia was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, one count of felony possession of methamphetamine and one count felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

Borneman was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with one count felony possession with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, one count felony possession with intent to sell/distribute methamphetamine and one misdemeanor charge of simple possession of a controlled substance.
