CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

One of the most famous music videos ever was re-enacted Friday on the University of North Carolina campus as a way to honor former Tar Heel Eve Carson.

Students, staff and faculty all danced to "Thriller" in The Pit in the heart of campus. Carson, who was murdered her senior year, loved the song and was huge fan of Halloween.

Even Winston Crisp, the vice chancellor of student affairs, took part in the event as a way to raise awareness of the Eve Carson Scholarship Fund.

"This is all about the Eve Carson scholarship," Crisp said. "It's a great way to remember Eve and to have some fun with the students."

The Eve Carson Memorial 5K run will be Nov. 16 and begin at 9 a.m.. Last year, the event raised $52,000.
